TO BE COMPLETED BY THE MUNICIPALITY. In particular, the licenses indicated in the content paragraph need to be verified, depending on how the
Municipality intends to release the material produced with the funding.
Who manages this site
The site viafrancigenasudsalento.it is managed by the Municipality of Poggiardo, the leading entity of the project "For an Accessible Via Francigena of the South for
Everyone", realized with the contribution of the Ministry of Tourism as part of the Fund for Religious Paths, together with the Municipalities of Cannole,
Giuggianello, Giurdignano, Martano, Palmariggi, and Tricase.
By using the site, you accept the conditions described here.
What is it for
The site describes the Salento section of the Via Francigena del Sud and tells about the places, with particular attention to accessibility for people with disabilities. It offers information on the routes, points of interest, and services along the way.
Accessibility Information
The accessibility ratings published on the sheets of places and structures are based on surveys conducted on-site as of the date indicated on each sheet. Where a survey has not been conducted, the site explicitly states this instead of making an estimate.
However, the conditions of a place can change: a construction site, ground subsidence, a closed door, an out-of-service elevator. Before embarking on a route or visiting a place, those with specific accessibility needs are encouraged to verify the situation by phone.
The information is provided to facilitate travel planning and does not guarantee the actual usability of a place at a given time.
The routes and tracks
The downloadable tracks in GPX format describe the surveyed route. Their use is under the responsibility of the walker.
The path takes place partly on roads open to traffic, on unsupervised trails, and in rural areas. It is necessary to assess one's physical conditions, weather conditions, and equipment, and to respect signage and private property. The Municipality and the participating Municipalities are not responsible for accidents or damages occurring along the route.
User-submitted reports
Anyone reporting an architectural barrier declares that what they communicate corresponds to what they have observed.
The reports are verified before publication and may be rejected with an indication of the reason. By communicating them, the
Municipality is granted the non-exclusive right to publish them on the site and to use them for the purposes of the project, even in aggregated form.
Anyone attaching a photograph declares to have its availability and not to depict recognizable persons without their consent.
Offensive, irrelevant, or manifestly unfounded reports are not allowed. The Municipality may remove any content that violates these conditions or the law at any time.
The contents of the site
[The Municipality should verify and complete this paragraph.]
Texts, photographs, audio guides, and videos in sign language are owned by the Municipality of Poggiardo or their respective authors, unless otherwise indicated on the individual sheet.
Public administration data is made available according to the regulations on the reuse of public sector information. The cartographic images come from OpenStreetMap and are subject to the ODbL license.
Partial citation and reproduction for study, research, information, and criticism purposes are allowed, with indication of the source.
Links to other sites
The site may contain links to sites managed by other parties. The
Municipality is not responsible for their content or the data processing that occurs there.
Service continuity
The site is offered as is. The Municipality strives to keep it available and updated, but does not guarantee the absence of interruptions, which may depend on maintenance or uncontrollable causes.
Report a problem
To report an error in the content, a non-functioning link, or an accessibility issue, you can write to [email address].
Access difficulties to the content have a dedicated channel, described in the accessibility statement.
Applicable law
Italian law applies. For disputes, the court of
Lecce is competent, without prejudice to the mandatory provisions for consumers.
