The Menhir of Teofilo, also known as Santu Totaru, la Culonna or Menhir of Santa Lucia, is located in Martano, on via Teofilo, now incorporated into the urban fabric of the town, in a small fenced flowerbed. With its height of 4 meters and 70 centimeters, it is the tallest monolith in Puglia, dating back to between the 9th and 7th centuries BC.

The scholar Cosimo De Giorgi described it in 1879, reporting that at that time four other menhirs survived in the territory of Martano, all of which have now disappeared: Teofilo is the only one remaining.

On its surface, one can see signs of popular Christianization: a cross engraved on one side and, on the other, a small niche once intended to host sacred images, in connection with the nearby chapel of Santa Lucia. Like many menhirs in Salento, this one is also linked by popular tradition to the legend of a treasure hidden in a cave beneath the stone.
