How to read the scale
The level refers to one type of disability at a time. A place can be fully accessible for wheelchair users and completely unsuitable for those who are blind: that's why there is no single rating, and each type has its own evaluation.

Palazzo Baronale di Giurdignano, also known as Palazzo Alfarano Capece, is located in Piazza Municipio, the historical heart of the town. Built for defensive purposes during a time of incursions in Salento, it retains a tower with a cistern on the south-east side, the first fortified nucleus. Between the 15th, 18th, and 20th centuries, the building was remodeled several times: already in the 17th century, the defensive structure became a noble residence, with works completed in 1765. On the rusticated portal, the noble coat of arms of the Prototipo, dated 1677, is visible. With the arrival of the Alfarano Capece family, the palace was enriched with noble elements such as the frescoed gallery and the imposing external balcony. Once past the portal, the atrium features a barrel vault with lunettes and decorated capitals. The ground floor was then unified into a single space, used as a mill and later as an oil mill. Remaining unchanged between the 19th and 20th centuries, it was restored and returned to the community in December 2012, and today it hosts events and exhibitions.
