The Torre del Sasso, also known as Torre del Mito, is a coastal defense structure that stands on the crest of Serra del Mito, 116 meters above sea level, along the coastal road that connects Marina di Andrano to Tricase Porto, within the Regional Natural Park of Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase. It is one of the tallest coastal towers in Salento, and its existence is documented as early as 1584.

It was part of a system of watchtowers, equipped with cannons and visible to one another, designed to promptly signal the arrival of pirates and Ottoman Turks to the population: it communicated to the north with Torre Porto di Ripa and to the south with Torre del Porto di Tricase.

It featured a truncated pyramidal base topped by a square body, once covered by a barrel vault and clad in blocks of tuff. Today, accessible only via difficult paths, the tower is partially in ruins: an important part has collapsed in recent decades due to neglect, but it still retains the majesty of the ancient sentinel of the sea.
