The Chapel of the Madonna di Loreto in Tricase is a fine example of sacred architecture from the eighteenth century in Salento. The exterior is characterized by a facade with a straight and linear crown, topped in the center by a large cross. The entrance portal is surmounted by an arched molded niche and a rectangular window that illuminates the hall. In front of the entrance, there is a raised forecourt with three steps, featuring a characteristic semicircular shape, enriched by built-in stone seats. Along the side of the building, in a more recessed position, stands a small and typical bell tower with a sail. Crossing the threshold, the interior reveals a great geometric simplicity. The single nave leads directly to the modest presbytery, enhanced by a masonry vaulted ceiling. This rigorous decorative cleanliness of the walls is rhythmically interrupted only by a continuous ornamental flooring, adorned with elegant geometric patterns that run along the entire nave.
