The Church of San Luca Evangelista stands in the heart of Palmariggi, a small village in Salento, in the province of Lecce. It is a Baroque building from the late eighteenth century, built on the foundations of a previous medieval structure. It was dedicated to the evangelist at the behest of the Ventura family, local feudal lords who were particularly devoted to the saint.

The façade, entirely made of Lecce stone, opens with a finely carved portal, topped by the statue of the Madonna della Palma, flanked by niches with the statues of Saint Anthony of Padua and the Madonna delle Grazie.

Inside, the single nave, covered by a star-shaped vault decorated with stuccoes, houses four altars dedicated to Saint Joseph, the Madonna of Lourdes, the Madonna of the Rosary, and the Trinity. The sacred space is also enriched by the paintings of the apostles Peter and Paul, created by Nicola Castelluzzo, and a painting depicting the expulsion of the merchants from the temple.
