The story translated into Italian Sign Language by an interpreter.

The Church of Sant'Eufemia stands in the eponymous district, the smallest in Tricase, of ancient Byzantine origins: here there was a settlement linked to Greek places of worship, which hosted pilgrims heading to lower Salento. The church was rebuilt in its current forms between 1772 and 1778.

The facade, made of Lecce stone, ends with a broken pediment flanked by statues of Saint Francis of Paola and Saint Anthony of Padua. On either side of the portal, two niches house the statues of Saint Eufemia of Chalcedon and Saint Louis Gonzaga. The polylobed window is engraved with the date 1774.

Inside, the single nave is marked by two arches on each side and decorated with stuccoes. The walls feature Baroque frames with paintings dedicated to the martyrdom of Saint Eufemia among lions, the Souls in Purgatory, the Madonna of the Rosary with Saint Dominic, and Christ with the Sacred Heart between the Immaculate Virgin and Saint Joseph.

The floor also preserves a splendid nineteenth-century mosaic by the Peluso brothers, with floral motifs, uncovered during the restorations of 2013.
