The Chiesa Matrice di San Salvatore is located in the center of Poggiardo. The facade is simple, made of limestone, and features a central portal with a lintel. Above the portal, a circular rose window opens, illuminating the interior. Upon entering, one can notice the side aisles that overlook the central nave. The walls are decorated with frescoes depicting religious scenes. On the left, the presbytery is raised above the rest of the church. Here, the main altar is made of stone and features an altarpiece with sacred images. On the right, a small altar is dedicated to San Giuseppe. The atmosphere inside is calm, enveloped in a faint scent of wax. The lighting is warm, contributing to a sense of contemplation. Outside, the bell tower rises above the roof, visible from various points in the town.
